UX Basics: Minimal keyboard support for search field and results

visualOS has a keyboard shortcut to pull up a search field but, when you have some results shown below, you can’t arrow down into the results and select one with the return key. This is the expected behavior in most search fields. Also being able to ESC out of the search field.

Small annoyances like this accumulate and add up to poor UX. I would prioritise the basics before getting carried away with a bunch of new features. The App Store is full of decent app ideas poorly executed in the details.
